In 2016, Brian Hoang co-founded Immosis, a virtual and augmented reality software consulting firm with client projects spanning industries such as gaming, healthcare, and education.
In 2018, he pivoted to SURVIVR, a Public Benefit Corporation backed by Techstars. SURVIVR’s mission was to make communities safer through immersive and responsive law enforcement training. Brian helped raise both angel and institutional funding, expanding the company’s customer base to include police agencies, universities, and private security firms across 10 states—as well as the U.S. Air Force and Department of Homeland Security.
In August 2021, SURVIVR was acquired by InVeris Training Solutions, where Brian served first as Director of VR/AR Strategy and later as Vice President of Products, all driven by one core belief: good training saves lives. He completed his two-year term with InVeris in August 2023.
Brian is currently building Mia Labs, a startup that automates consumer communications for automotive retail stores. In his spare time, he teaches the Startup Launch course (ENTP 3320) at The University of Texas at Dallas, carves stone sculptures at the Creative Arts Center of Dallas, and cruises with his car community, Dallas Drifters.
